kika offers its know-how and experience to international partners via a franchise concept. In parallel to the massive expansion in Central and Eastern Europe, the kika franchise division was launched. This successful corporate concept can also be put into practice by licensed local franchisees in distant markets.
As the owner and franchisor of the kika Concept, K Franchise Vertriebssysteme GmbH aims to bring kika products to as many people as possible by multiplying the kika concept through kika franchisees.
The first kika store in Russia opened in April 2009 in Moscow, followed by a second store in Samara in November the same year.
In 2010, kika Krasnodar opened in April and kika Rostov-on-Don is expected to open during summer.
In spring 2011, the fifth kika store in Russia will open in Voronezh while more stores in Moscow are being planned.
The worldwide expansion of kika will be further continued with own and franchisee driven stores in
existing and new countries. The opening of the first store in Israel is planned for early spring 2011 in Netanya,
north of Tel Aviv.
K Franchise Vertriebssysteme GmbH gives franchise rights only to franchisees in countries in which a kika store has not been established yet. The franchisees are granted an area licence for the whole territory they will be operating in. The franchise partners have to have the ability to secure a strong market position and market penetration in the given territory.
Potential kika franchisees shall also be able to clearly document that they have an outstanding understanding of and commitment to the kika Concept. Essentially, the franchise partner possesses financial strength and potential as opening a kika operation requires considerable investments which are entirely at the expense of the kika franchisee. Another vital point is that the potential franchisee has identified well located sites for the retail activity.
